Whether you are a kitchen pro, just a beginner or one of those people who the only thing they make for dinner is “reservations” – there is a lot to learn at these action-packed cooking classes. The Claremont Team leads each class following Dave’s favorite quote: “The best definition of gourmet is simple things done well”.

Most students find the chef’s tips and kitchen techniques to be the most valuable takeaways of the day. Whether it’s sharpening up your knife skills or learning tips on how to make things ahead to help take the stress out of delivering a delicious dinner or party meal – there is plenty to learn!

Some of the more popular classes include Northern Italian, Southern Italian, French Bistro, Hot and Spicy, Herbs and Spices and of course, Grilling. In the Fall we do soups and stews, baking and desserts. We end the year of cooking classes with some make-ahead, show-off holiday menus.

All of the menus are selected focusing on professional cooking techniques. These are great techniques you will learn and use over and over again. You will find you can easily apply them to dishes you already prepare and it will make you feel more confident at home when trying new recipes.

Taste, taste, taste… That is one of the best things about coming to cooking class. You get to sample and taste the raw ingredients before we start, as they are prepared and then finally as the seasonings are adjusted at the last moment. Oh, and by the way, that is your chef’s tip of the day – “Taste, taste, taste – often to know what is going on in the dish”.

You will go home more confident and ready to try new things in the kitchen. Or better yet – you’ll be able to impress your friends the next time you go out to dinner with all of your “foodie” knowledge.
